Michael Kors expects the deal, which it anticipates will close in the fiscal fourth quarter, to reduce adjusted earnings per share in fiscal 2020, then add to EPS in 2021 and 2022. The company believes buying Versace will help it grow revenue to $8 billion in the long term and increase the retail footprint by about 50% to 300 stores. "With the full resources of our group, we believe that Versace will grow to over US$2.0 billion in revenues," said Chief Executive John Idol. "We believe that the strength of the Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo brands, and the acquisition of Versace, position us to deliver multiple years of revenue and earnings growth." Michael Kors's stock has gained 6.0% year to date, while the S&P 500 SPX, -0.35% has climbed 9.2%.
